Overview of busbars

Busbars are used as electrical lines which, unlike cables, consist of tested components and use pre-assembled standard components. This makes them a flexible and space-saving solution for energy transportation and distribution tasks.

Advantages of busbars

SIMPLICITY OF PLANNING

Opting for busbars simplifies the planning phase considerably. In contrast to cables, where the current load limits depend on external factors, the load capacity and other reduction factors of conductor rails can be planned clearly and without additional calculations thanks to the model of the rail.

FLEXIBILITY

The construction planning of busbar systems is much simpler, faster and more cost-effective compared to cable solutions. Outlet points are already provided at a short distance and only need to be activated using an outlet box. This means that adjustments and changes can be made effortlessly and cost-effectively during installation and even after completion.

ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY:

In contrast to power cables, which are usually made of copper and become more expensive as copper prices rise, busbars are made of nickel-plated and tin-plated aluminum, optionally also made of copper. Quick planning and simple installation enable additional cost savings.

SAFETY:

Busbar systems have a low fire load. In new buildings in particular, busbars can be effectively sealed off against fire and smoke. Precise planning makes it possible to cut out the necessary ducts during the production of concrete parts, allowing the installation of smoke barriers. These ensure a tight connection from the basement to the roof and increase safety.
